Institute for the Psychological Sciences (IPS) is training the next generation of psychotherapists in a ground-breaking program that integrates scientific psychology's theoretical and empirically-based knowledge with the Catholic understanding of the person, marriage and the family.

As an IPS graduate, you?ll learn to go beyond simple symptom relief to facilitate true healing and growth for your clients and their families. You?ll discover why IPS training emphasizes not only assessment and treatment of psychological disorders, but also how to help your clients develop virtues and flourish as human beings. By understanding the whole person, you?ll be able to provide more effective treatment.

Be among the IPS graduates who are in demand and making a difference nationally and internationally in the mental health field. IPS students are regularly placed in prestigious externships and internships in the metro-DC area and across the country. With an IPS degree you can pursue numerous career options, including working in private practice, hospitals, community clinics, seminaries, campus ministry, outreach services, and academia. As IPS alumni will attest, the need for well-trained clinicians is great.

Degree options include a Master of Science (MS) with a second-year externship and a Doctorate (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, and a Master of Science (MS) in General Psychology. Classes are taught by a diverse and experienced faculty, consisting of practicing clinicians, researchers, theologians, and philosophers.

In addition to Master's and Doctoral programs, IPS offers a wide variety of on-demand training and certificate programs for individuals, parents and ?first responders,? as well as continuing education programs for counseling staff, therapists and other mental health professionals. Visit online.ipsciences.edu/ for a list of courses that are offered.
